NPC MISSION STATEMENT
The National Panhellenic Conference exists to promote the values of and to serve as an advocate for its member groups in collaboration with those members, campuses and communities.
The National Panhellenic Conference provides support and guidance for its 26 member international sororities/women's fraternities and serves as the national voice on contemporary issues of sorority life. Founded in 1902, NPC is one of the oldest and largest women's membership organizations representing more than 4 million women at 655 college/university campuses and 4,500 alumnae chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Each year, NPC-affiliated collegians and alumnae donate more than $5 million to worthy causes, provide 2.8 million in scholarships to women and volunteer 500,000 hours in their communities
NATIONAL PANHELLENIC CONFERENCE FOUNDATION
The mission of the Foundation is to attract, manage and grant funds that support the development and implementation of qualified National Panhellenic Conference Programs including the following:
SOMETHING OF VALUE
Supports annual presentations on college and university campuses with Panhellenic Associations; engages collegians in group discussions of values, a mock trial, and confrontation skill development; empowers panhellenic women to address risky behaviors including abusive relationships, substance abuse, academic dishonesty, eating disorders, financial mismanagement, hazing, harassment, personal safety concerns, etc.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Supports publication of a newsletter called The Scholar, manuals, week and month of the scholar events, and materials related to academic forums; recognizes College Panhellenics achieving an all-sorority grade point average meeting or exceeding the all-women's average and/or raising their overall GPA by 1.
WOMEN IN HIGHER EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Recognizes the contributions of outstanding women faculty, staff, or administrators in the field of higher education.
EDUCATION SPEAKER'S FUND
Underwrites professional speakers and presentations at annual sessions of the National Panhellenic Conference: provides professional programming on such topics as substance abuse, legal issues, academic achievement, and women in higher education.
REGIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Awards four $1,000 scholarships to Greek-affiliated undergraduate women across the continent.
ALCOHOL-FREE HOUSING
Encourages the growth of alcohol-free housing movement within men's fraternities on college and university campuses; supports educational materials to guide College Panhellenic and NPC member affiliations in implementing alcohol-free social activities and promoting the value of alcohol-free facilities.
NPC FOCUS
Supports the development of educational and leadership programs designed to enhance the life skills of collegiate members; current programs include a focus on drug education, self-esteem, and positive confrontation.
SAFE DRUG EDUCATION PROGRAM
The interactive program includes an educational video, workshop materials, and facilitator's guide to be used by collegiate chapters and College Panhellenic Associations.
